How can I tell when I need a new mattress?
Even the highest quality mattresses wear out in time. A good mattress will deliver good support for 5 to 7 years of every night use. A better mattress will provide 10 years and a top quality mattress will give 12+ years of good support. Comfort will vary from year to year and you may make a mattress change earlier than this answer may suggest.
These signals may help you determine whether it's time to buy a new mattress:- You're in pain. Waking up with back and or neck pain, numbness, stiffness and aches are telltale signs it's time to replace your mattress.
- You toss and turn. Waking frequently during the night, not related to sleep apnea, can be a sign your mattress is preventing your body from relaxing and being able to sleep properly.
- You sleep better somewhere else. If you get a better night's sleep in a hotel or as an overnight guest somewhere, or even on the sofa, your mattress could need replacing.
- There's a dent in your bed. Any visible sagging spots, indentations or areas on the surface of the mattress that appear or feel uneven mean it's time to ditch your mattress. You shouldn't be able to feel the coils in an innerspring mattress.
- A surge in allergy or asthma symptoms. Mattresses attract allergens, and as the levels of these allergens increase, so does the risk for problems with allergies and asthma.
-
What's the difference between innerspring and foam mattresses?
- Innerspring Mattress: Innerspring mattresses are created using a steel coil system. The overall coil system, coil types, coil count and coil gauge vary depending on the mattress manufacturer.
- Memory Foam Mattress: Unlike innerspring mattresses, memory foam mattresses are composed of polyurethane foam that provides the support system. Your body contours more in this type of mattress due to the high density foam layers.

Does a mattress have to be firm to be supportive?
Support comes from within a mattress, whether it be foam or innerspring. The surface and other upholstery materials insulating you from the support core will determine the comfort level and can offer a firm feel or a soft feel. -
What are the advantages of a single-sided mattress?
Single-sided mattresses offer the advantage of never having to 'flip' the mattress. These also permit the manufacturer to concentrate better materials on the 'One-Side' for better value. -
How do I fit a large or king size mattress through a narrow space?
King Size sleep sets come with a 'split' foundation and the mattress is flexible to fit in most areas. -
What's a typical warranty?
Warranty covers manufacturing defects and typically is 5 to 10 years in length. -
Is it really important to not remove the "Do not remove" tag?
Although it's not illegal to remove this tag, the information on the label will serve as a means of identification and is often required by the manufacturer should you have a warranty claim.
